Sunday morning is the Lords day. You are not suppost to do work by any means. Did being a Sunday School Teacher count as work? Of corse not, silly…doing Gods work did not count.
This is what Theresa told herself every Sunday. She had a hard time believing it though. It was once again Sunday morning. At about quarter to eight, Theresa piled into her car. She always had her cup of coffee and her buttered bagle with her. In about thirty minutes she would be pulling into the church drive way. Theresa put her coffee in the cup holder and her bagle on the dash board. She then began to look for her key. They were not in her pockets or on the dashbord. “Shit!Where the Fuck are my Keys” she screamed. Then took a deep breath in and closed her eyes. “Dear Jesus” she said “I am sorry for what I just said…I really am this time.” Theresa always left her car door unlocked. She could care less who stole her crappy junk car anyway. Then she opened her eyes and pulled her purse out from behind her seat “they must be in there she thought” and opened it. Sitting on top where her keys. She pulled them out, placed her purse back behind the seat, inserted the keys into the ignision and pulled out.
She was on her way. Destination Church of God! As she drove down the block things seemed strange. As she passed the Wagners house she noted that their green ford was not in the drive way. She then also noted that the Peters were not going for their Sunday morning jog or that there were any news papers on any of the lawns. “Thats strange, there is probably and explination.”
At the corner she waited for the light to change. “Hurry up!” she thought. “I want to move already.” but the light did not change. What was strange was there seemed to be no one else around like she had noted before. She climbed out of the car peering down the street. There was no one around. Theresa climbed back in her car and desided to head to Church. Theresa drove onto the highway. There was not a single car!
There was no sign of anything. Where was she? Did she enter the twilight zone or something? Since there was no car in sight Theresa became very worried. She didn’t want to dottle. She picked up her driving pace and drove 65 in a 35 lane. She turned at her exit and raced to Church. She pulled into the driveway and noted there was no one there.
She was scared to get out. What if Aliens have taken over the world she though. Now that’s silly. She slowly unlocked her doors and got out. Slowly she closed her door and looked around the Church parking lot. In the distace she could see a pick up truck heading towrd her. What should she do? Theresa desided to wait and see who it was. As it got near here she could make out a figure of a man in a white robe. He rolled down the window, it was Jesus.
“Hello Theresa.” he said. Theresa looked sceptical “Excuse me but who are you?” she said. ” I am Jesus..don’t your know who I am?” he said. “Yes but how? and where did everyone go?” Jesus took a breath and said “You are dying, in a coma and I have come to take you to heaven. This is your spirit in waiting.”
“Dying! How the hell am I dying? I not dying…” Jesus cut her off
“You were in a car crash last night on your way home from Billy’s””No I made it home, I swear I did…” “No on Pine Street three blocks from Billy’s you were so shaken up that he was leaving you, you never saw the cat.” “Did the cat make it?’ She sobbed “No, but that was part of Gods plan.” “Plan what plan?” “I kill a cat? That’s how I die?”
Theresa didn’t want to believe this.”This isn’t true, in a few minutes I swear I’ll hear my alarm and wake up.” Jesus reached out to touch her. “Don’t touch me!” Theresa backed up and begain to run away from Jesus. Where could she hide? Everywhere in the Church he would know to look, he’s Jesus for crying out loud. Then it hit her she’d hide on Marks street three blocks over in the whore house. Jesus wouldn’t go in there. She picked up her pace and began running. She got to the corner and waited for the light …then she remebered I’m dying I don’t have to wait. She finally rounded the courner and entered the whore house. In side it was dimly lite. A girl in a thong and and pasties greeted her. “Hello Theresa, the devil will be with you in a moment.” The devil? Now Theresa really began to think this was a dream. A moment later a man in a black suit entered. “Hello Theresa. So I see you have come to join me. Lets get you into somethinng more comfortabe.” With a snapp of his fingers Theresa was in a red bathrobe and red highheels. She could feel that she had on only a thong and pasties. “Get me out of this!!!” She yelled. “As you wish.” With a snap of his fingers Theresa was standing naked in front of him. Embarrised Theresa ran to duck behind the bar. “Why you hiding my dear? I thought you wanted to please me. By cominng her you are joining my girls.” Theresa began to sob. “Why the tears its not so bad..” Theresa looked up and saw the same girl that greeted her. “I’ve been here for years. I get fed have a place to sleep all for the price of sin. I live in the real world but I must do as Mr. D wants.” “What he wants?” “Oh yea, I’m a whore. I have unpretected sex for money. Although all money goes to Mr. D, and let me tell you, if u get pregnant u get locked up in here dancing pregnant till u pop…” “Pop?” Theresa was worried. “Yes pop birth the baby then Mr D destroies it. If u get aids or a std well…lets just say you hope you never get ether.” Theresa had heard enough she bolted past the girl and steight for the exit. Outside she was relived to see Jesus. “how did…” “Its all in Gods plan…are you ready?” Theresa didn’t know what to make of any of this but she did know that if it was her time she’d like to go to heaven with Jesus. She took Jesus hand and walked into the light.

The smelly old blob lay down to die. He was all alone. He had found himself curled up, in a pile of old clothing. The clothing was piled up in the long hall way. This hall way lead to Uncle Sammy’s room. The mess had been there for months. It was compiled of bags and bags of dirty unwashed clothing and it was starting to smell musty and wet. And to top it all off it was rotting. The blob was unable to move, let alone yelp in pain as he lay there in the mess. The little girl was the last to say good-bye. Though at 2 1/2, the little girl didn’t know that this was good-bye.
It had been like any other morning, chaotic. The blob watched as the family did its normal routine. They ran around like chicken with their heads cut off. The family made up of Uncle Sammy,Grandma, the little girls mother Mandy, and the little girl herself Annible. Oh and of course Rex the dog, aka the blob. Rex was an old dog of 13 years. He was round and what was left of his white fur was matted all over his body. He was beginning to stink, like rotting flesh. Ironically he chosen to lay in the rotting clothing.
The morning that Rex died was like any other full of pandemonium. The family except for Uncle Sammy had awoken late. Rex could feel the house take on a tone of panic. This state of panic caused Mandy to dress Annible in a hurry and yell at her mother in the proses. “Mom, where the hell is my text book? Where going to miss the bus” Her mother replied as all ways with some smart remark “Take Rex out and I’ll find it.” Mandy always knew or so she thought, taking Rex out would solve nothing. So she never did. Rex never counted on Mandy to take him out. After 20 minutes of scrambling to get out the door Mandy and her mother where ready. Mandy was off to school, and her mother was off to work. Annible was off to daycare.
Mandy and her mother walked out the door forgetting Annible. When they reached the front porch a half asleep Uncle Sammy who had been sitting on the porch most of the night blurted out “Aren’t you forgetting Annabile?” Mandy looking back at her mom quickly grabbed her keys and returned inside. “Annible” she yelled, “Where are you?” “Mommy, sitting with Rex.” “Well lets go now, before you start to stink and we miss the bus ” Mandy screamed, “You can see Rex later.”
Slowly Annible got up form the pile of clothing where Rex was laying. She looked down at the dog, took in a deep breath turned bending over and hugged him. Then letting go she whispred “I’ll miss you.” she did not know that shortly there after he would be gone.
Did Rex know he was about to die? No one can say for sure. He was always in pain and today was like any other. He had lived a long life. Thirteen years to be exaste. On the morning he died, he could not stop dreaming. It was if his whole life was a blob on a movie reel. Pictures flashed before his eyes. Memories of his puppy life. The days he spent in the park and those not so happy days when he was left at the kennel. Then there was the arrivle of Annible.
Annible had been a surprise to Rex. It was if he had woken one morning in a dream, he hadn’t left. Annible was something special to Rex. Her arrivale made Rex feel like a puppy again. From the time Annible could walk, Rex took it upon himself to look out for her.
Now he was leaving her to fend for herself; in the world.
Rex worried for Anniable.
They had grown such a bond Rex worried about what his death would do to her. There was nothing that could be done though. He was old and his time was up.
The apartment was quiet. But Rex wouldn’t have known that. He was deaf. He hadn’t heard moments before that Annible had said her final good bye. On mornings like these Annible always said something to Rex and Rex could never figure out what it was. So today he felt was no different. A key turned in the door Uncle Sammy tired entered the apartment. Walked to the back of the house. Climbing over the piles of clothing and Rex. “Shit Rex, you stink man.” He muttered. Rex sat up the best he could. “Not now Rex I’ll walk you later.” Then he shut his door forgetting Rex excisted. Uncle Sammy sat on his bed tired and counted his nights pay. He desided to smoke a joint before heading to bed. Shortly after Sammy curled up in bed and fell asleep forgetting Rex needed to go out. Rex lay his head back down closing his eyes. He really had to pee. He knew that it would be hours before he was walked. Rex began to dream of what it must be like to be walked all the time. His dreams were starting to be reality.
Rex couldn’t tell if Uncle Sammy had come out of the room dressed and ready to walk him. In any case Rex hoped that he was being walk. Rex slowly walked down the stairs out side and peed. This was a happy moment for Rex but he really hadn’t gone out he had just peed where he was laying. Rex still had no idea that he had peed where he was laying. For what seemed like hours Rex had dreams of a long walk he would never go on. He would visit the park, walk around the neighborhood peeing in all his favorite spots.
At last Rex headed home, up the stairs to be greated by a smiling Annible. And with that the door shut behind him and he was gone. Rex had died.
At about 6:45 the door to the house opened Annible bursting past her mom looking for Rex. Mandy too into her own agenda walked into her bed room and collaped on the bed. Annible finally found Rex laying in the hallway in a pile of pee and old clothing. Bending down she rubbed his head and got no response. Annible tried harder to get him to move but nothing happened. Annible didn’t know what to do. Climbing over the dead dog she ran to get Uncle Sammy. Opening the door she called “Sammy, Rex isn’t moving.” The half asleep Sammy opened his eyes and look at the girl. “He’s just sleeping” and turned over and went back to sleep. Annible went out into the hall way and lay down next to the dog holding him. He still didn’t move. Annible was worried. She got up covered in pee and ran to find her mom. “Mommy she yelled Rex isn’t moving.” Her mother climbed out of bed and went into the hall way where she incountrd the little girl. “Annible hunny how many times have I told you to go potty if you have too.” Confused Annible responded “Mommy I didn’t pee that was Rex” Now Mandy was worried. Trying to look as calm as possible Mandy bent down near the dog. “He’s just asleep” moving her foot to shack him. Rex didn’t move.
Mandy did not know what to tell Annible. Pulling her daughter away from Rex she lead her into the living room. “Hey lets get you out of these wet close and into something dry.” Annible agreed but still wanted to know what was going on. “Mommy is Rex ok?” “Annible I’m not sure.”
Annible half naked rushed past her mom to Rex. “WAKE UP, WAKE UP!!!!!” she yelled. All the screaming had awoken Uncle Sammy. He slowly got out of bed and walked into the hall. “Annible, Rex is sleeping.” “No Uncle Sammy he’s not” Uncle Sammy bent down and tapped the dog. There was no response. “Annible, go get your mother please.” Annible did as she was told. Mandy entered the hallway where she could see Uncle Sammy bent over. “Is he…” Uncle Sammy looked up and mouthed the words “Yes, get Annible out of here.” What was to be done?
Mandy picked up the half naked girl and carried her into the bathroom. “Hey lets take a bath.” “No, mommy I want to see Rex.” Mandy tried to keep her cool, for the sake of the little girl but she couldn’t. She was sobbing. “I’m sorry Annible Rex is dead, I should have walked him.” Annible hugged her mother. “Mommy Rex be ok. He is with Jesus.”
At that very moment in the hallway Uncle Sammy could be heard yelling. “Shit, fuck you peed too Rex.” Uncle Sammy was trying to get Rex out of the house. Annible burst out of the bathroom running to see what was happening. “No Uncle Sammy leave him” The little girl flung herself onto Rex. She was not letting go. This is how the story ends. Uncle Sammy gave up and went to bed, while Mandy heartbroken went into the other room to call her mother. Annible curled up and went to sleep with the dead dog her best friend Rex.

Dear Professor,
I must say this semester has gone by way to fast. I have learned alot in this class. So much of what I have learned I think will help me in the years to come. I never knew that writing blogs could be so hard. I mean I am used to just writing and posting not caring what was I said so much or who my audience was. Now I know that is a key component in writing, if one choses to make it good.
The poetry componet was by far the most challenging. I am used to sitting down and writing what comes to mind. I never had a theme before. Having a theme made it more challenging and I think that it helped me really make my work the best it could be. With that said, I wish we had spent more time on the different types of poems. Writing a villanelle, was challanging so I wish that I had more time to polish my poem.
The long short story I think was very daunting. I liked the assinment but I felt it was getting hard to work on the story for four weeks. With that said I did like the out come. I got to see the out come and I am very pleases with the result. It came from the in class assinment write the first line of a story. So I did and went with it. I had wanted to write about a blob monster but going home and seeing my dog lying in clothing sparked this story.
The short short story, I think should have been giving more time to work on. What I mean is that we should have been told to post them so others could see what we had done. I think that then I would not have felt so rushed with it and produced my best work. I came up with the theme for the story just by chance. I was sitting down to write it and it came to me, so I went with it. I really like it and want to one day do something more with it.
I think having a blog site to post on helped alot. I was able to them come back and see what I had done. I was also able to see what other had done as well. The comments that other gave me was a big help. I was able to see what I had done and what others had thought of my work. Then, I was able to then sit down and re-work what I had.
The in class writing assinments also helped not only spark ideas for assinments for this class but they helped me to see what I am capable of. These writing assinments helped me to see what kind of writer I am. I am a very sad kind of writer. All most all of my writing has a sad under tone. The themes of what we had to write about may have caused some of that but in general I think I am a sad kind of writer.
With all that being said I really enjoyed this class as a whole. I feel that I am taking away alot of useful things. I hope that if you ever teach this class again you will use some of the stuff that you have done here. In all I am thankful that you tough this wonderful class. -Thank you-Prudence

Mandy did not know what to tell Annible. Pulling her daughter away from Rex she lead her into the living room. “Annible I’m sorry Rex is dead.” She said as tears rolled down her face. Annible begain to cry. “No mommy he come back he be like Jesus.” “I’m sorry sweety he’s gone.” and with that Annible ran to where Rex was and lay down. Mandy still crying tried to pick Annible up but Annible held on for dear life.
Uncle Sammy awoke and sat up the noise had woken him. He opened his door to find Annible hugging Rex andd Mandy crying. “he’s dead she said” Uncle Sammy bent down to see. After a moment, he sighed “Yes he is” Looking at Annible he picked her up and handed her to her mother. Annbile wiggled and tried to put up a fight. “No, no Rex” she yelled. Mandy took the crying child in her arms and rocked her. She felt bad for not walking Rex that morning. She wondered if that may have killed him. But there was no need for blame now. Rex was dead.

The smelly old blob lay down to die. He was all alone. He had found himself curled up, in a pile of old clothing. The clothing was piled up in the long hall way that lead to Uncle Sammy’s room. It had been there for months, it was starting to smell and rot. The blob was unable to move, let alone yelp in pain as he lay there in the mess. The little girl was the last to say good-bye. Though at 2 1/2, the little girl didn’t know that this was good-bye.
It had been like any other morning, chaotic. The blob watched as the family did its normal rutine. They ran around like chicken with their heads cut off. The family made up of Uncle Sammy,Grandma, the little girls mother Mandy, and the little girl herself Annible. Oh and of corse Rex the dog, aka the blob. Rex was an old dog of 13 years. He was round and what was left of his white fur was madded all over his body. He was begining to stink, like rotting flesh. Ironicly he chose to lay in the rottiing clothing.
The morning that Rex died was like any other. The family except for Uncle Sammy had awoken late. In a state of panic Mandy dressed Annible yelling at her mother in the prosses. “Mom, where the hell is my text book? Where going to miss the bus” Her mother replied as alway with some smart remark “Take Rex out and I’ll find it.” Mandy always knew or so she thought, taking Rex out would solve nothing. So she never did. After 20 minutes of scrambeling to get out the door Mandy and her mother where ready. Mandy off to school, and her mother off to work. Annible would be off to daycare.
Mandy and her mother walked out the door forgetting Annible. When they reached the front porch a half asleep Uncle Sammy who had been sitting on the porch most of the night blurted out “Aren’t you forgetting Annabile?” Mandy looking back at her mom quickly grabed her keys and returned inside.
Then letting go she wispered “I’ll miss you.” she did not know that shortly there after he would be gone. But that last line she muttered to Rex, may have gotten people thinking. That maybe Annible knew his time was .
Did Rex know he was about to die? No one can say for sure. He had lived a long life. Thirteen years to be exast.
From the time Annible could walk Rex took it upon himself to look out for her.
Now he was leaving her to fend for herself in the world.
A key turned in the door Uncle Sammy tired entered the apartment. Walked to the back of the house. Climing over the piles of clothing and Rex.
